It's become common for people to leave notes on vehicles if they're unhappy with how or where someone has parked. However, car experts have cautioned that this could be seen as anti-social behaviour and could lead to a significant fine.
Majid Ismailzada, a motoring expert at GM Direct Hire, stated: "Leaving angry or aggressive notes on vehicles could now result in hefty fines. What might seem like a quick way to vent frustration could land drivers in legal trouble, with fines reaching up to £2,000." He added that due to an increase in incidents where irritated drivers leave hostile notes on windshields, UK authorities are ramping up efforts to tackle this form of antisocial behaviour.
Majid continued: "These notes, while often left in the heat of the moment, are now considered a serious offence under UK law. "Under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, aggressive notes on vehicles can result in a Community Protection Notice, which carries a fine of up to £2,000."
