"a hack" Rather than a championship hopeful, it was an eliminated driver in Alex Bowman who won the 2021 Xfinity 500 in controversial fashion. With cut line chaos happening all around him — namely a battle between Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski — Bowman was fighting for the win with Denny Hamlin.
With seven laps to go, Bowman spun Hamlin in turn four, sending the Martinsville crowd into a frenzy. Bowman went on to win the race, but an enraged Hamlin visited Bowman while he was doing his burnout on the front-stretch.
