A traveller posted a video showing poor conditions on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, including broken seats and duct-taped overhead bins, has gone viral. Dhaka : A Pakistani social media user and traveller shared a video of his “terrifying” experience on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight. The Instagram video shows Pakistani social media user Ali Khan boarding the plane and being immediately told by the cabin crew that recording was prohibited.

However, once seated, he documented the poor conditions inside, including dust-filled gaps in the chair, a broken seat handle and an overhead bin held together by duct tape. ..It doesn’t help when your national carrier is also banned from an entire continent,” Khan wrote in the caption of his video.

He explained that he decided to fly with PIA for the first time in over a decade to visit the Northern Areas of Pakistan, a destination he had always wanted to explore. “I’m so excited to take y’all with me,” he added. What social media users said Viewers reacted with a mix of shock and admiration.

“Watching this clip and hearing what you said about the Airlines gave me heart palpitations. But no doubt about the beauty you witnessed and God bless you for the risk you took to see it,” commented one user. Another said, “Pakistan Airlines? I would never even consider, let alone get anywhere near one of their planes.

” A third user shared their own experience, saying, “I’ve flown to Gilgit with PIA, just a little further north. It’s one of the most beautiful flights in the world, but there have been so many plane crashes along that mountain corridor!” Amid the concerns, one user found humour in the situation, saying, “Duck tape all airlines use, everyone should carry some with them while travelling.” In 2020, the European Union banned Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) due to concerns about Pakistan’s ability to maintain international aviation standards.
