In the early days of the Hindi film industry, many female actors had their voices dubbed by professional voice artists, a fact that the audience was unaware of until those actresses began doing interviews or started using their own voices in films. Prominent stars like Rani Mukerji, Bipasha Basu, Ameesha Patel, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, and Nargis Fakhri were all dubbed by voice artist Mona Ghosh. In a recent interview, Mona opened up about the different reactions she received from actresses regarding her work.

Bipasha Basu, for example, once jokingly said, “I will kill you if you dub for me again.” Speaking on The Motor Mouth YouTube channel, Mona shared that she provided the voice for Bipasha in films such as Raaz, Jism, Footpath, and Gunaah, among others. When asked about how the actresses responded to her dubbing, Mona revealed, “Varying reactions.



Some said I don’t know how you do this, someone said I will kill you if you dub for me again.” She then confirmed it was Bipasha who made that remark but clarified that she had no control over the decision. “It’s not my decision.
