The luxury boat first got into trouble at around 10am local time on Saturday when other nearby ships noticed the yacht, which was moored off the coast of Camp de Mar on the south west of the Balearic Island, had partially sunk. An emergency alert was issued shortly afterwards and the Spanish coast guard scrambled on its boats to head to the scene - with local police following behind.

Luckily, before emergency services could get there, a private boat was able to pick up the yacht's five passengers- which included a German couple and their son. Euro Weekly News reports that the passengers were then sent to back to Port Adriano near Magaluf. In footage posted by Majorca's coast guard the yacht, which is valued at an eye-watering £800,000, can be seen listing on its stern with the bow of the vessel rising up above the water with bits of debris floating in the water beside the troubled vessel The luxury boat first got into trouble at around 10am local time on Saturday when other nearby ships noticed the yacht, which was moored off the coast of Camp de Mar on the south west of the Balearic Island, had partially sunk In footage posted by Majorca's coast guard the yacht, which is valued at an eye-watering £800,000, can be seen listing on its stern with the bow of the vessel rising up above the water with bits of debris floating in the water beside the troubled vessel.

The yacht eventually sank at around 5pm local time last night. Spanish Police are yet to release a statement about why the luxury ship sank. In July, a 150ft megayacht, which costs a whopping £180,000-a-week to rent, sank off the coast of Kefalonia after a crew member left a door open.

Shocking footage showed the vessel off balance on the blue waters around Kefalonia, a popular island in the Ionian Sea known as the setting for Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Waves are seen lashing at the stern of the yacht, now some distance from the shoreline. The yacht eventually it ran aground in Evretis Bay, where it was anchored.

But it was later revealed the inflow came after one of the crew left a side door open - and did not have time to close it once the weather 'turned', local media reports. Five members of staff and passengers on board were all safely rescued from the ship.
