One mom's bold decision to move her family from a luxurious home to a studio apartment has gone viral on . Sona Avetisyan, who once had dreams of living in a vast 5-bedroom house, has downsized her family to a modest studio apartment—and she couldn't be happier with her decision. In her , professional organizer Avetisyan explained that she had spent "many years" saving for a dream home.

The problem was, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. What should have been a fulfilling chapter quickly turned into a revelation about the true cost of maintaining a large, beautiful property. "When we bought it though, I realized that we were doing less of the things we loved doing, like quality family time and entertaining," the mom of two wrote in an Instagram caption.

At first, she couldn't put her finger on why she felt this way until something clicked. The caption continued: "Time is not limitless. The more things you have to manage, the less time is left for other things.

" Despite the aesthetic of her new home, Avetisyan—who goes by on Instagram—found herself overwhelmed by the sheer volume of belongings that the family had accrued over the years. "But if I had to box up everything I had then compared to what I have now I would have at least 8 times more," she wrote in the caption. Avetisyan decided that it was time for a change.

With fewer possessions to manage, the LA-based mom has more time and energy to invest in her relationships and personal well-being. "It gives me more opportunities to make memories with my loved ones," she wrote. Since the reel was posted in June of this year, it has gained 700,000 views and counting.

Hundreds of other Instagram users also seemed to relate to Avetisyan's dilemma. One user with the handle @lyricallyvisual wrote: "I can feel this. I love our home, but I definitely get anxious and overwhelmed with over 5000sq of a home.

Sometimes, I feel like a needle in a haystack." Many others shared that they too downsized to a smaller property and admitted that there are pros and cons to both living situations. One user is considering swapping their 2-story home for 4 wheels.

They wrote: "It's so much to maintain for all of us at times because we work. That we're in the process of either downsizing or doing the RV life." Another user summed up their thoughts in just four words: "Simplicity is the best.
