A Kolkata-based model and influencer, Sannati Mitra , who identifies as the 2017 Miss Kolkata pageant winner, has sparked controversy after posting a video of herself dancing in a towel at Delhi’s iconic India Gate. The video recreates a scene from the Bollywood classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge . Mitra can be seen dancing in a white towel and slippers mimicking Kajol’s famous dance sequence, Mere Khawabo Mei from the film.

The internet is outraged and claimed it to be “crossing all limits”. In the clip, a visibly surprised crowd, including children, looks on as she twirls and partially removes the towel, making the act even more startling. The video, uploaded to celebrate International Men's Day , quickly went viral, racking up over 4.



8 lakh views on Instagram within hours of being shared. She captioned the video, “Happy International Men’s day. May you all continue to inspire and motivate others with your courage, kindness and empathy.

Some expressed outrage over the perceived disrespect to the martyrs commemorated at the monument, highlighting the need to honour their sacrifices. Others lamented the lengths individuals go to for fame, expressing dismay over the lack of accountability and discipline.
