Former San Francisco Giants first baseman Will Clark has enjoyed his retirement in his official capacity as a special assistant to the team's president, Larry Baer, and in his unofficial capacity as a throwback curmudgeon. Clark, 60, leaned into his old-school persona once again in an appearance with Eric Byrnes' No Filter Network. Byrnes, who fashioned a throwback persona for himself over 11 major league seasons (2000-10), teed up Clark for an insightful take on how recently fired executive Farhan Zaidi was involved in the Giants' organization.

"I'm not going to beat on Farhan (Zaidi) that bad, OK, but he had his fingers in everything," Clark said. "Especially analytics, that's first off, and second off was he made out the lineup. (Manager) Bob Melvin would want this guy in the lineup, that guy in the lineup – Farhan would trump him.
