Governor Tate Reeves, speaking at the 2024 Governor’s Conference on Tourism held at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, emphasized the significance of tourism as a key driver of economic growth. “Mississippi’s story is worth telling, and our tourism industry excels at sharing that story with the world,” Reeves said.
He added, “By telling our own story, we ensure continued economic growth and opportunity for our people.” The Governor’s Conference, which brought together over 200 tourism professionals from across the state, also served as a platform to recognize outstanding achievements in the tourism sector. Hattiesburg was a focal point of the event, with VisitHATTIESBURG taking home awards for “Destination Marketing Organization of the Year” and “Public Relations Strategy of the Year.
