MIRI (Aug 27): Miri City Council (MCC) will transform the Miri Port roundabout into a beautiful landscape to showcase the beauty of the city, said mayor Adam Yii. He said the project at Jalan Miri Port, Kuala Baram is implemented under the council’s Landscape Adoption Programme – an initiative to create more aesthetically pleasing environment.

“The work on the project is expected to commence in October and to be concluded by December this year. “Both Miri Port Authority (MPA) and MCC are excited about this collaboration and are keen to see the positive impact it will have on the city’s image,” he said. He said this at a ceremony yesterday after a full council meeting, where he received a cheque for RM70,000 from MPA general manager Serawa Budol in support of the project.

The project aligns with MPA’s dedication to corporate social responsibility as well as MCC’s effort to beautify Miri, turning it into a vibrant landmark, said Yii. He added that other organisations interested in contributing to the enhancement of the city’s landscape can approach MCC for collaboration..
