MINDY Cohn has announced that the Facts of Life reboot is no longer happening, blaming an unnamed co-star for its demise. The actress held nothing back, slamming a co-star she claims to have once considered a friend in a scathing interview. Mindy, 58, appeared on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live this week, opening up about The Facts of Life reboot.

During her interview, she reminded hosts Jeff Lewis , Michael Hitchcock, and Shane Douglas that the show was resurrected as one of the specials for the Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel series Live in Front of a Studio Audience. "They did one of Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life and after that, Norman Lear, who is no longer with us, when he was still alive, he called all of us and said, 'I knew you guys were still popular, but holy hell. The response from the live.

' "And basically there was this roundtable with Octavia Spencer and Amy Poehler and Jennifer Aniston where they all said, 'Yeah, our parents grew up with All in the Family, but we grew up with Facts of Life'," she said. More TV News "That's the Norman Lear sitcom that we love. And we had all never really talked about it, but we all started to consider it a little bit.

" The Palm Royale actress claimed, however, that a "greedy b***h" on the original cast led to the downfall of the show. "What happened was not cut," she said. "There was drama.

" Most read in Drama Mindy went on to say that one of her costars "went behind our backs" and tried to make a separate deal for a spinoff "just for herself." The news left the cast devastated. "I'm just saying, it was for a 40-year friendship and sisterhood, there was [a] tidal wave of emotion around it," she continued.

Michael chimed in, "There's always a greedy b***h." Mindy replied, "You know what, Michael Hitchcock? Greedy b***h. I'll say it.

" She added that the drama led to a major falling out, though the tides have changed a bit. "We didn't [speak] for a while and now we do-ish, but there's definitely ..

. it was an ouch," she shared. Mindy assured the show's hosts that the reboot is "very dead," adding that there is little desire from the Facts of Life cast to work together again.

"A couple of people can't move past it, don't want to move past it," she explained. "We are not as united. Let me put it that way.

We were united for 40 years over not talking about each other, not doing dirty, not, you know, all for one, one for all. And this kind of wrecked that, which is sad. Really sad.

" WHO DONE IT? Mindy declined to reveal which of her co-stars she was talking about but did hint that it wouldn't be difficult to figure out. "I will not deny or confirm," she said. It was an ouch "What it is, is really sad.

But what we were talking about before, you know, during coffee, is that some people are so desperate for either money or fame that it causes them to do things that to me, I guess, I'm still not that jaded. It shocks me," she said. "You're gonna do that over money, or that over being famous? It always just kind of freaks me out that people will do that.

Throw friendships, deep true friendships, under the bus for a dollar." FACTS IS BACK The Facts of Life reboot was announced in 2021 to much excitement from fans. The original show aired from 1979 to 1988 and became one of the longest-running sitcoms of the '80s.

Jennifer Anniston played Blair in the live episode. "The reason I wanted to be a part of this was because ..

. just two words: Norman Lear. [I] grew up on everything he did," she said in an interview.

The Friends star admitted that performing in front of a live audience was challenging, noting that it had been some time since she'd done it. Jennifer admitted that it made her "nervous," adding, "And I like to feel nervous." Ann Dowd played Mrs.

Garrett, while Kathryn Hahn signed on to play Jo. Gabrielle Union took on the role of Tootie and Allison Tolman played Natalie. Lisa Whelchel , who played Blair in the original show, appeared toward the end of Live in Front of a Studio Audience, stunning fans with her youthful appearance.

The reboot was announced after the Live special with plans for Mindy, Lisa, and Kim Fields to make cameos. Norman approached the trio – the only surviving members of the cast aside for Nancy McKeon – if they were interested in a reboot, according to TV Line . "We had never really talked about it, but we all started to consider it a little bit," she said.
