Vadodara: The 811 Engineer Regiment of the ONGC Territorial Army celebrated the platinum jubilee of the Territorial Army with a breathtaking military band display and a vibrant Gujarat Rathwa folk tribal dance concert at EME School here on Friday. The military band of the Madras Engineer Group (MEG) & Centre, Bengaluru, captivated the audience with their scintillating performance, showcasing a blend of military precision and artistic flair. The event drew a large crowd, including army personnel, NCC cadets, students of M S University and Parul University, officials of ONGC and SBI, and people from the civil society.
Major General Mohit Gandhi, Commandant of EME School, and Priya Ranjan Mishra, executive director of ONGC, graced the occasion as chief guests. Colonel Preena Verma, the first woman commanding officer of the unit and a silver medallist at the Asian Games, honoured the chief guests, the band group of MEG & Centre, and the folk dance group of the Rathwa tribal community. Attendees witnessed a celebration of the country's rich cultural heritage, highlighted by the majestic sounds of the military band performing soul-stirring renditions of national tunes, complemented by the vibrant energy of the Gujarat folk tribal Rathwa dance.
