Thursday, January 9, 2025 In a significant milestone for African aviation, flynas, the Middle East’s leading low-cost carrier (LCC), has inaugurated its first direct flight between Jeddah and Djibouti on January 8. This marks a strategic expansion into Africa, reinforcing its position as a global leader in low-cost aviation and supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 aviation objectives. The inaugural flight was celebrated with grandeur at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, attended by prominent dignitaries, including Djibouti’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Dya-Eddine Bamakhrama, and officials from flynas and Jeddah Airports Company.
Upon its arrival at Djibouti International Airport, the flight was warmly welcomed by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Djibouti, Faisal Al-Qabbani, alongside Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. The event underscored the importance of this new route in fostering stronger connections between Saudi Arabia and Africa. flynas will operate three weekly flights on the Jeddah-Djibouti route, offering greater travel flexibility to passengers traveling between the Middle East and Africa.
