Vadodara: Several areas in the city are witnessing power cuts since Tuesday as the Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL) has turned off many transformers . MGVCL managing director Tejas Parmar said on Wednesday that power will be restored when the flood water starts receding. “We had to turn off 365 transformers and 68 feeders in different areas as the flood waters started entering the premises.

The water level was rising and we didn’t want to take any risk,” Parmar said. He said that all the teams of the MGVCL are working round-the-clock to ensure that people get power supply in these times of crisis. “Once the water recedes, we will take stock of the situation and start restoring power supply to all the areas,” Parmar said.
