Fish-cut skirts on dresses and lehengas seem to be making regular appearances at celebratory events. Just two days ago, Ananya Panday stepped out in a look from LaQuan Smith’s Fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
Her dress featured a mermaid-style, cinched skirt paired with a bralette. She accessorised her outfit with Fall season's favourite trend — stacked bangles. Ananya for sure has become the most stylish Gen Z celebrity and perhaps the "It Girl" of Bollywood.
She closed the show for Rohit Bal, at the Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI. Actor Kiara Advani showed up in a custom-made, fish-cut saree-lehenga embellished with beads and sequins by designer Manish Malhotra, at his Diwali party. The lehenga was cinched at the back to create a striking mermaid silhouette, though it did have mix reactions.
One of this year’s social highlights was undoubtedly the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant — the power packed event that left the world in awe. Among the high-profile guests were the Kardashian sisters, Kim and Khloe, who wore sarees by Manish Malhotra. For one of the wedding functions, Kim wore a custom scarlet-red, pre-stitched saree with a fish-cut fit, featuring a daring blouse with a plunging neckline.
