The UHV men's golf team kept its Top 25 ranking streak alive. The Jaguars moved up five spots to No. 17 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll on Thursday and was ranked No.
14 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches' NAIA Coaches Poll by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Friday. By staying in the Top 25 of the NAIA Coaches Poll, UHV has now been ranked in 22 consecutive ratings dating back to October 2021. "I'm extremely proud of the way our guys closed out the fall semester," said fourth-year head coach Garrett Adair.
"We want to carry that momentum over to the spring and hopefully challenge for a national championship." UHV closed the fall semester in record-breaking fashion with a win at the UHV Fall Classic on Oct. 22.
The Jaguars tied or set three team records while Joshua Van der Wath, who is the No. 4-ranked golfer in the NAIA according to Scoreboard Powered by Clippd, set or tied four individual records. It was UHV's second consecutive win to close the fall schedule after beating NCAA Division I Texas Southern in a head-to-head meeting on Oct.
17. The Jaguars are seeking a fifth consecutive conference championship and their first national championship this year after a fifth-place finish at the NAIA National Championships in May. UHV will resume its season on Feb.
