Meldreth Road, in Shepreth, is shut in both directions for vital works. The works are being carried out by Anglian Water, who will be doing utility access improvements on the road.

These are scheduled to last almost all day, between the hours of 7am and 11.59pm. The road closure will be in place until August 9.

Roadworks and a diversion route are due to be in place at all times during this period, with motorists advised to plan journeys accordingly. The diversion route will take motorists down Fowlmere Road, Dunsbridge Turnpike, Cambridge Road, Melbourn Bypass, Station Road, Whitecroft Road, Melrose, Fenny Lane and North End, with the reverse route applying.

It is estimated that this will add around five and a half miles and 12 minutes onto journey times. Do you want more of the latest Cambridgeshire news as it comes in?
