Saturday, August 24, 2024 Melbourne Park is set to become even more enticing with the arrival of St Andrews Beach Brewery, bringing the flavors and coastal charm of the Mornington Peninsula to one of Victoria’s premier sporting precincts. Supported by the Allan Labor Government, this new addition is poised to enhance the area’s appeal to both locals and tourists alike. Scheduled to open on Tuesday, 27 August, in the vibrant Garden Square, the brewery is a key component of the precinct’s ongoing development.

Minister for Tourism, Sport, and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos, recently toured the new facility alongside Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust CEO John Harnden and St Andrews Beach Brewery Co-Founder Andrew Purchase. Their visit underscored the importance of the brewery in bolstering Melbourne’s reputation as a top destination for leisure and entertainment. Located within the modern CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park, which emerged as part of the Labor Government’s comprehensive Melbourne Park Redevelopment, the brewery will accommodate up to 350 guests.

With its combination of indoor and outdoor seating, the venue promises a versatile environment suitable for all seasons, making it an ideal spot for patrons year-round. What truly sets St Andrews Beach Brewery apart is its operational brewery on-site, allowing visitors to enjoy freshly crafted beers made right in the heart of Melbourne Park. This unique feature brings a slice of the Mornington Peninsula’s renowned craft beer culture to the city, catering to the growing demand for authentic and locally produced beverages.

The brewery’s launch is expected to significantly boost Melbourne Park’s contribution to Victoria’s booming visitor economy, which recently reached a record $39.3 billion. As one of the city’s most visited locations, the Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct attracts over three million visitors annually, generating more than $700 million in visitor spending and driving increased hotel bookings across the area.

This year has already seen the precinct host an array of high-profile events, including the Australian Open, sold-out concerts by international music stars, and the BALLIN’ series featuring Australia’s top national basketball teams. The addition of St Andrews Beach Brewery adds another layer of attraction, offering visitors a unique blend of world-class sports, entertainment, and locally brewed craft beer. This new venue is set to elevate Melbourne Park’s status as a premier destination, ensuring that Victoria continues to be a leading choice for unforgettable experiences and vibrant cultural offerings.
