Former WAG and socialite Bec Judd and an entourage of influencers glammed up for the unveiling of the Crown Birdcage Marquee at the Melbourne Cup Carnival. With five days to go until the race that stops the nation gets underway, the exclusive Birdcage Marquee has been officially opened at Flemington Racecourse. It seems the invitation-only enclosure for 200 guests is even more decadent this year with a theme of “Rendezvous” promising “joyful celebrations and sophisticated glamour”.

At the launch on Thursday morning, guests were showered with champagne, confetti was out of canons and fireworks exploded from the first-floor balcony. Judd stunned in a silver strapless dress complete with a matching choker and headband. She was joined by swimmer Emma McKeon, AFL star Christian Petracca and former footy player Brendan Fevola’s wife and daughter, Mia and Alex.



This year’s red and white checked marquee of champagne house G.H. Mumm has been transformed to represent the inside of a private jet.

As guests walk through the entrance of the marquee and up the stairs, the Birdcage reveals floor to ceiling glass and screens across every wall for an all-encompassing race viewing experience.
