AMSTERDAM - Changes are in store for one Amsterdam eatery. Megabites Events and Catering has taken over the former DomAdi’s Deli, which closed recently after seven years in operation. Megabites plans to turn it into Anthony’s Deli & Market, featuring imported specialty items, baked goods, grab-and-go meals, local produce and more.

Opening Anthony’s is a full-circle moment for owner Megan Podrazik. As a teen, she ran a deli on Wallins Corners in Amsterdam, offering Boar’s Head products and pizza. “We always had a dream to reopen the deli and offer that same type of service we had back then, and when this opportunity arose, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to kind of bring back that nostalgia,” Podrazik said.



Megabites took over the space earlier this week and has started renovations, with tentative plans to open on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The space will be transformed into an Italian-style market and Podrazik plans to add gardens to the patio area.

“We're going to do some gardens out there, a little bit of patio seating, as well as an area for farmers to come and bring their product. We will schedule a farmers market for the fall, keep it consistent, and just really utilize this side of the Route 5S and Fonda area to bring everyone together,” Podrazik said. Anthony’s, located at 1451 on Route 5S, will be open for breakfast, lunch and to-go dinners on Monday and Tuesday, as well as for breakfast, lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday.
