McDonald's is bringing back a menu item so popular that it became a fast-food cult favourite back in the 1980s. It's official - the McRib will return to the Irish menu later this month. A McRib order contains a boneless pork patty, which is shaped like ribs and covered in BBQ sauce, with onions, pickles, and a toasted bun.

It was first launched in 1981 but was discontinued just four years later. Although, the McRib is so popular that McDonald's has brought it back as a limited edition item in some restaurants over the years. For McDonald's UK and Ireland, the return of the McRib will mark the first time the classic menu item will be sold in nearly a decade.



The last McRib was sold in the UK in 2015 - and fans have regularly called for it to come back ever since.
