4 million last year (pictured in January at London's Argylle premiere) Argylle bombed at the box office despite its star-studded cast and whopping £150 million production budget. The spy flick - that critics recently dubbed 'one of the worst movies ever made' -featured plenty of star power with Dua Lipa joining Henry Cavill , Bryce Dallas Howard , Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, Catherine O'Hara, Sofia Boutella, Ariana DeBose , John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson.

A reported £61 million was poured into the film's market budget. It premiered at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, England in January 24 and was released the following month. The story centers on a reclusive best-selling spy novelist whose tranquil life is turned upside down when 'the plot of the new book she's writing starts to mirror real-world events, in real time,' according to IMDb .

Matthew worked from a screenplay by Wonder Woman's Jason Fuchs. The initial reviews for Argylle were less than flattering and may have influenced moviegoers to steer clear of the star-packed feature. It currently has a 33 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes , although the audience rating is much better, now at 72 percent.

Argylle - that critics recently dubbed 'one of the worst movies ever made' - featured plenty of star power with Dua Lipa joining Henry Cavill in the star-studded lineup As for the Critics Consensus, it read: 'Argylle gets some mileage out of its silly, energetic spin on the spy thriller, but ultimately wears out its welcome with a convoluted plot and overlong runtime.' 'Its comic touch almost as heavy-handed as its slow-motion-drenched action is dull, it seems primarily designed to answer the question, “How many movie stars can one fiasco squander?”' Nick Schager of The Daily Beast asked. 'A talented cast trapped in an endless story with a fake cat,' Matt Singer from ScreenCrush quipped.

David Fear from Rolling Stone kept his review simple and to the point, writing, 'Argylle is a bad movie. A very, very bad movie.' 'It all starts to feel like one of those very expensive, very elaborate commercials for a pseudo-luxury product you don’t want to buy — a perfume perhaps, or some car,' wrote Leslie Felperin from the Hollywood Reporter .

As well as making the Kingsman series, Marv has been behind Rocketman, Kick-Ass, Snatch and Layer Cake, among other hits. The production company enjoyed a huge turnover of £246.4 million last year, generating a £77.
