Matthew Rhys has a new show in the works at Apple TV+ ! On Tuesday (February 11), it was announced that the 50-year-old Emmy-winning actor has signed on for a leading role in the streaming service’s upcoming series Widow’s Bay from creator Katie Dippold . According to Variety , the show is about “a mysteriously cursed New England island and its superstitious citizens, led by a mayor ( Rhys ) who refuses to believe their warnings.” Keep reading to find out more.

.. Apple TV+ picked up Widow’s Bay for 10 episodes back in September 2024.



Along with starring in the series, Matthew will also be serving as an executive producer. Hiro Murai will also be executive producing the show and directing the pilot. Matthew ‘s casting in Widow’s Bay comes after it was announced this past November that he will be starring alongside John Krasinski in Prime Video’s new serial killer series Silent River .
