Among the many colorful heroes and villains of the Masters of the Universe franchise, none stand out more than Scare Glow. As IGN recently revealed, Mondo is poised to give this spooky villain his own steed named Scare Mare , and now we can exclusively reveal new images and details for the Scare Mare figure and the companion Scare Glow Deluxe figure. Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at both Scare Glow Deluxe and Scare Mare: As a brand new addition to the MOTU mythos, the Scare Mare figure was originally conceived by Mondo Senior Directors Hector Arce and Bob Fulkerson and designed by Arce and MOTU historian Florian Bertmer.

The finished piece was sculpted by Tommy Hodges and painted by Arce. The Scare Glow figure was designed by Emiliano Santalucia and sculpted by Matiporn Thamtarana, with paint by Alex Alva and Hector Arce. Both figures feature packaging art by Florian Bertmer and packaging design by Jordan Christianson.

"Scare Glow as a character has always had a certain mystique around it," Arce told IGN. "Originally one of the most sought-after and rare figures from the original MOTU toy line from the '80s, to now just being beloved as being an all-around badass looking character and fan favorite. At Mondo, both our previous 1:6 scale Scare Glow figures were instant sell-outs and are really sought after to this day.

We felt that a character with this type of popularity and gravitas deserved a powerful companion to aid him in his evil-doing ways. Thus, after a lot of brainstorming, Scare-Mare was born!" The Scare Glow Deluxe figure looks to be a massive leap in quality over Mondo's previous figures, including sculpted bones and numerous alternate head sculpts, among those the very first rendition of Karak Nul's human form. The figure also includes various interchangeable hands, magic spell effects and weapons like the Mourning Star and a glow-in-the-dark Spine Whip.

Scare Mare features mixed media elements like removable armor and cloth components. The wings, tail and mane all glow in the dark. The figure has a massive 54-inch wingspan, though it also comes with swappable spectral energy pieces for the more space-conscious collectors out there.

The figure also incldues a special mini-comic that reveals the origin story behind this fearsome steed. Finally, these two figures are being accompanied by a new 18" x 24" poster of Scare Mare illustrated by Florian Bertmer. Both Scare Glow Deluxe and Scare Mare will be released as Timed Edition exclusives on MondoShop.

com and will be available starting at 10am PT on Tuesday, July 23 and ending at 10am PT on Friday, August 9. Scare Glow Deluxe is priced at $275 and is expected to ship in February 2025. Scare Mare is priced at $599 and is expected to ship in December 2024.

The poster is priced at $60 and is expected to ship in October 2024. Mondo is also selling a bundle that includes both figures, the mini-comic and the poster for $775, with shipping estimated for December 2024. The bundle also includes several exclusive accessories like a Flaming Skull portrait and Flaming Scythe weapon.

In other He-Man news, the live-action Masters of the Universe reboot finally has a release date - June 5, 2026. Directed by Bumblebee's Travis Knight, the film will star Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man . Jesse is a mild-mannered staff writer for IGN.
