MasterChef champion Simon Wood has vented his exasperation after a slew of no-shows at his renowned Manchester eatery over the weekend. The celebrated culinary artist, who launched his upscale restaurant WOOD on First Street in Manchester in 2017, expressed his ire on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter , on Sunday. Accompanying a photo of an unoccupied table, Simon lambasted the absent diners for skipping out on a special chef's table event without even the courtesy of a cancellation call.

His Sunday morning post was captioned: "An actual image of my chefs table at 8pm last night. I'd like to say a huge thank you to the table of 5 that no showed, no even a phone call or a courtesy so I could resell the table. "What a way [to] support a small business.



Much appreciated, you T****." The post quickly became a hot topic, with many rallying behind the chef and echoing his frustration. Yet, it also sparked debate about why deposits aren't taken for such dining experiences, with suggestions for upfront payment or card details to be provided when booking, reports the Manchester Evening News .
