In case you haven't heard, Baldur's Gate 3 is getting another huge update in September, which has been in the works for a while. And, ahead of the Patch 7's beta testing period on PC, developer Larian Studios has shared additional details on what we can expect from the update. As was previously revealed, evil characters can look forward to a slew of ending enhancements, including additional cinematics.

Official modding tools are being introduced as well, and select mods will make their way to PS5 once everything's up and running. But the good news doesn't stop there. We've also got confirmation that split screen functionality is being improved thanks to a new 'dynamic' mode that gives you one big screen when characters are close enough to each another.

What's more, a bunch of welcome adjustments are being made to all of your favourite party members, squashing character-related bugs and, er, improving certain kissing animations. You know, the important stuff. We've gathered the main points below, as per Larian's full breakdown .

Oh, and Larian has confirmed that this won't be the last update for Baldur's Gate 3. It writes: " We still have a few things up our sleeve — including many community-requested features like crossplay and a photo mode to capture and share your unforgettable moments. And we’re working on a host of other enhancements, from gameplay tweaks and quality-of-life improvements to bug fixes and performance optimizations.

" Baldur's Gate 3 is closing in on its first anniversary, and it's great to see that Larian is still making big improvements to an already outstanding RPG. Are you tempted to start a new playthrough? Set aside 100 hours in the comments section below. I completed a 300+ hour first playthrough starting the say the full game released.

On completion, I realised that I had just played the best game ever made! Currently, I have a trio playthrough ongoing, which also started the day the game came out, but due to work commitments for one of my mates, we sometimes only get to play once a week, however we are at the backend of the game with little to do now in reality but defeat the last of the three boss enemies, and then the final battle. I also have a duo run ongoing on Tactician mode, which we started yesterday, and then lastly, I have my own solo run on Tactician mode too, which I started just last week. So I've got a lot going on in what is easily the very best of games.

.. I’m looking forward to the new evil endings, a year later my first playthrough might get an actual ending to it.

Still no pause kinda baffles me..
