At the 43rd Annual Maryland Tourism & Travel Summit held in Harford County, the 2024 Maryland Tourism Awards were proudly celebrated. Organized by the Maryland Department of Commerce’s Office of Tourism Development and the Maryland Tourism Development Board, these awards honor outstanding contributions that bolster Maryland’s tourism landscape, aiming to expand market reach, foster overnight stays, build strategic partnerships, and elevate Maryland as an essential tourism hotspot.
Award Winners and Categories: Market Expansion Award: This accolade went to Maryland’s Coast in Worcester County, recognized for its impactful “Let’s Go” advertising campaign. The campaign skillfully targeted a broader audience both demographically and geographically. Aimed at showcasing Worcester County’s appeal as a dynamic destination for vacations and day trips, the campaign highlighted outdoor activities like biking, hiking, and watersports.
With a multi-channel, creative strategy targeting out-of-state audiences within a four-hour drive radius, the campaign captured over 6,100 new leads, boosting web traffic, brand awareness, and hotel bookings. Maximizing Opportunities Award: Awarded to Charles County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism for the “BruMate Outdoor” campaign, which leveraged a growin.
