Birth: August 27, 1932 Death: May 12, 2024 Mary Margaret Bowers OBITUARY (Née Prindiville) August 27, 1932 – May 12, 2024. Marge left us filled with awe, inspired by her strength and love, her wisdom and humility, her faith and tenacity. Marge taught us by her example to stand up for others as well as to always be clear about one’s path.

God sent literal sparks from Sun to Earth, opening Heaven to welcome Marge as she joined her beloved mother Mary & father James Prindiville, brothers James & William Prindiville, sister Marie Prindiville Kay, and dear cousin Joanne Whalen. Marge adored her family, especially her 10 grandchildren – Claire, Maggie (Matt), Francis, Sarah (Tyler), Ryan (Kat), Grace, Katie, Joseph, Leora and Youni – and 4 great-grandchildren – Cole, Carter, Cade and Elijah – who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her devoted children Mary Bowers, Jack (Leza) Bowers, Theresa Bowers (Tom) Sullivan, Jim (Becky) Bowers, Kathy Bowers (Peter) Sprandel, Pat (David) Bowers, her brother Robert (Kathy) Prindville, sister-in-law Agnes Tierney Prindiville, sister Patricia Prindiville (Thomas) Nelson, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Marge’s strength of will had no bounds. Whether it be pursuing a design degree from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts; raising 6 children born within 9 years largely on her own and using that degree to design & sew matching outfits for her children; helping build the community and even the Rectory at St Henry Church; adventuring around the globe while still volunteering many, many hours at St Thomas Hospital, St Henry Church & School, Our Ladies of Charity, and St Vincent DePaul; participating in the long-term Memory & Aging Project at Vanderbilt University; and even beautifully renovating her home to her very own specification at age 89. Marge never slowed down and truly knew how to get things done in a beautiful way.

What a delight to know Marge! She was a marvel of spunk and persistence, always wrapped in courtesy and humor. To know Marge is to love her, as her many friends of all ages around the world can attest. She will be so missed.

At this point, Marge is now around us sending her love as heavenly rays of light beaming down, whether fair weather or storm, and as joyful sounds of laughter radiating from playgrounds, and indeed as the gentle leaf floating quietly to the ground as she loved to watch on her patio. Marge’s Memorial Service and Celebration Of Life will be held at St Giles Church, 1045 Columbian Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302 at 10:00am on August 31, 2024.
