My job of sitting outside at the front door and greeting folks as they come in for a visit is quickly coming to an end for this year. The season has changed. Fall is in charge of the weather and temps have been a bit chilly for me.
I am definitely a “fair-weather” greeter. It’s amazing how we all tend to be fair-weather people. After we had the rain and the cloudy skies, we were blessed again with some glorious sunshine.
You could hear it and see it as people had a little more bounce to their step as they sauntered by. The No. 1 topic? The weather.
People’s demeanor was changed. Just like a flower that reaches toward the sky, so too people would almost stretch upwards. They walked taller, they smiled.
One gentleman stopped to tell me, he couldn’t live in a location such as Seattle where the sun is scarce. The sun recharges us. It rejuvenates us, almost gives a sense of aliveness.
We are more content when the sun shines. It makes the world a better place. That makes me think of someone that makes the world a better place.
