The 51-year-old Marvel executive stated that keeping the movie R-rated was the only way to maintain Deadpool’s essence as a character.
He echoed similar thoughts regarding the Blade reboot, teasing an R-rating for the upcoming film. Kevin Feige said, “There were some great Blade movies years ago — they were all rated R. So I think that’s, like Deadpool, inherent with the character of Blade.
” He also shared some insights as to why the movie has been getting delayed. Feige stated, “For the last two years, as we’ve been trying to crack that movie, the most important thing for us is not rushing it and making sure we are making the right Blade movie.” Five years since its official confirmation, the Blade reboot has undergone several structural modifications.
