Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Marvel Zombies made an appearance at D23 2024 to show off new footage and reveal some of the classic Marvel characters that will be featured in each show. The former received maybe the most new details, as Marvel Animation promised that the animated Disney+ series will include characters like Doctor Strange, Doctor Octopus, Doctor Conners, and more as viewers see a new take on Peter Parker. This version of Spider-Man isn’t mentored by Iron Man, though.

Instead, he’ll be watched over by Norman Osborn , who will be played by Euphoria and Candyman star Colman Domingo. It’s this same complicated relationship that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man aims to explore. Domingo says he’s following in previous Green Goblin actor Willem Dafoe’s footsteps as he examines what it means to be a villain.

“I didn't know much about Norman, and I don’t know why I’ve been drawn to villains – I’m a good human being – but I do believe that everyone has the power to turn in some shape or form,” Domingo said. “If you weren’t given enough hugs or love or support, you can go to the dark side. To become a part of the MCU as Norman means everything to me.

Another show still in the oven is the upcoming TV-MA spinoff series , Marvel Zombies. D23 2024 attendees got an exclusive look at the four-episode show that reveals a moment where Shang-Chi, Katy, and Xu Wenwu find themselves overrun by a horde of zombies. A time jump then sends the story five years into the future, revealing a Mad Max-like world that was unable to survive the apocalypse.
