Martha Hammond Wyrostek RUTLAND — Martha Hammond Wyrostek, 85, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024 at The Meadows at East Mountain in Rutland, VT, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Martha was born on February 14, 1939 in Manchester, NH, the daughter of Dr. Weston and Claire (Wall) Hammond.

She graduated class of 1957 from Rutland High School, and remained close to her classmates for the rest of her life, placing great value on attending reunions and meeting regularly for lunches. Martha graduated from Bouve College of Boston and Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene. She worked as a dental hygienist in MA and RI and as a Tupperware manager in VT.

Her fun-loving nature, sense of humor, and natural ability to connect with people, combined with her enthusiasm and self-drive, made her perfectly suited for her Tupperware career, in the course of which she made many lifelong friends. Martha found comfort in her Catholic faith, and attended services at Christ the King, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and St. Peter churches.

She thoroughly enjoyed her early retirement years living in Calabash, North Carolina, developing many close friendships there. Her love of painting flourished, and she enjoyed an active, creative, and energetic social life. She had great stories about her St.

Patrick’s Day parties, participating in fashion shows (often in costumes and face paint), dining at favorite spots with good friends (and Minerva), and hosting visiting guests. The best stories.
