"Beautiful, vibrant, intelligently applied color. The media and messages may differ, but the color draws you in. Then, the forms.

Both artists work in a variety of media and this exhibit brings it all together. Collage, drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation are combined in the show aptly entitled 'Open to Possibilities.'" An opening reception with a cash bar and light refreshments will take place from 6-8 p.

m. on Friday, Aug. 30.

"Cydney Lewis, a Chicago-based artist with a multidisciplinary background, including a BS in Architecture from the University of Illinois and a background in film and ballet, is inspired to imagine multidimensional landscapes created from everyday objects she feels reflect the world we live in," the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District said in a press release. "Printed materials and imagery document our existence, while discarded objects reveal our values, claims Lewis. She discovers their stories, beauty, and endless adaptation through drawing, collage, sculpture, and installation assembled around these materials.

These elements combine to create worlds that seem both familiar and surreal. Cydney’s layered and textured landscapes invite you to look closely, to slow down, and to discover someplace new." "Arthur (Art) Garcia, a resident of Chesterton, IN, is first and foremost a sculptor and, more recently, a painter with a background in mechanical drawing. He earned his BFA in sculpture and painting from Indiana State University," the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District said in a press release. "His abstract paintings explore the use of hard-lined, geometric swaths of color adjacent to organic shapes.

Trained in the art of lost wax bronze casting, Art’s sculptures range from figurative bronzes to whimsical mixed-media skateboards and birdhouses. He strives to create work he hopes the viewer will find vibrant, balanced and unique." The exhibit will run through Oct.
