Thursday, August 22, 2024 Marriott International’s Asia Pacific growth accelerates, hitting 600 properties with the Adelaide Marriott Hotel joining the expansion, excluding China. Marriott International, Inc. has proudly unveiled its 600th property in the Asia Pacific region, excluding China, with the launch of the Adelaide Marriott Hotel.

This new addition is a significant milestone, as it marks Marriott International’s first venture into South Australia. The hotel not only pays tribute to the company’s flagship brand but also highlights Marriott’s commitment to expanding its footprint in emerging travel destinations. The Adelaide Marriott Hotel, seamlessly blending modern luxury with historic charm, has opened its doors within the iconic 150-year-old Adelaide General Post Office (GPO) building.



This 14-storey property features 285 elegantly designed guestrooms, including 12 suites offering breathtaking views of the city’s skyline. The launch coincides with the growing trend among domestic and intra-regional travelers who are increasingly seeking distinctive travel experiences in closer-to-home destinations. Marriott Hotels, the esteemed flagship brand of Marriott International, has a rich legacy of family values that dates back to its founding in 1957.

The brand made its debut in the APEC region in 1989 with the opening of the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay. Today, the region boasts over 50 Marriott Hotels, with nearly 40 more in the pipeline. This expansion reflects the enduring trust and confidence that property owners, franchisees, and guests place in the Marriott Hotel brand, which is celebrated for its exceptional hospitality and genuine service.
