Marion Jefferson (MJ) Sullivan, 76, went peacefully to meet his Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. MJ was born on November 3, 1947 in Llano, Texas to Amiel and Clara (Light) Sullivan. M J graduated from Canyon High School in1967 where he was a star baseball pitcher.
He then joined the US Navy and served on the Destroyer, USS Osborn during the Vietnam War. After the war, He came home to New Braunfels, Texas and Married the love of his life, Brenda Jennings Sullivan. They spent the next 55 years together.
M J worked and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. Afterwards, he went to work for Texstar Enterprises to work in the communications industry until his retirement from there in 2017. M J loved hunting, fishing, gardening and giving the ones he loved a hard time about anything.
Often you could find him watching a baseball or football game, making sausage, barbecuing, playing cards and dominoes or sitting around the fire talking to friends and family about the day. Growing up, he could be found walking the banks of the local river with a pole in hand or a few throw lines in search of catfish. From November to January, M J would be in the stand looking for the biggest bucks.
In true MJ fashion, he met his love of his live, Brenda while rabbit hunting. M J was honored to be the father of two children, Tammy and Michael and Opie to his two grandsons, Nicholas and Austin. In addition, he also considered his nephew.
