Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala’s 1998 movie Dil Se , directed by Mani Ratnam, is now 26 years old. Koirala, the female protagonist of the movie, recently opened up about co-star SRK and why they never starred opposite each other after Dil Se . Till today, Dil Se is an iconic movie in the history of Bollywood.

Both Khan and Koirala continue to receive love and appreciation for their work in the Mani Ratnam directorial. Dil se was masterpiece..

Koirala also said that she doesn’t have a definitive answer about why they never shared the screen, saying, “You will have to ask him (SRK).

” Talking about not sharing the screen with SRK after the success of Dil Se , Koirala further added, “In this industry, the heroes decide whom they want to work with, not the heroines.” Koirala then said that she considers Dil Se among her best works, along with Mani Ratnam’s Bombay and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Khamoshi and Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar . Talking about its underwhelming box office performance, Mani Ratnam said it could be because his Hindi “isn’t all that good.” He added that while shooting for Dil Se , he depended a lot on his actors to “put the scenes across.” Dil Se released on 21 August 1998.

Along with Koirala and Khan, it also starred Preity Zinta. Even though it was not a box office success, it was loved by the audience. Its music, composed by AR Rahman, continues to receive love by fans all around the world.
