Wednesday, January 22, 2025 Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to manage a new luxury resort and branded residences on Puerto Rico’s stunning southwestern coast. Set in the picturesque Boquerón Bay in Cabo Rojo, Mandarin Oriental Esencia, Puerto Rico , is scheduled to open in 2028. This will mark the Group’s third property in the Caribbean, further solidifying its regional footprint.

The ambitious project, part of the Esencia cosmopolitan coastal community developed by Reuben Brothers and Three Rules Capital, promises a seamless blend of natural beauty and luxurious living. Nestled amidst Puerto Rico’s vibrant biodiversity, the property will immerse guests and residents in the island’s iconic landscapes, including pristine beaches, protected mangroves, serene lagoons, and breathtaking sunsets over Boquerón Bay’s tranquil waters. The resort will feature 106 impeccably designed rooms and suites, each offering private outdoor spaces such as balconies, terraces, or gardens.



Select suites will include private plunge pools, while all villas will boast exclusive swimming pools. Guests will also enjoy access to five exceptional dining venues, including an array of international cuisines with locally inspired flavors, a beach club, a poolside restaurant and bar, and an elegant lounge bar.
