A man was shot by police during an armed bank robbery in Newport News, according to police. The shooting reportedly occurred at about 11:30 a.m.

Saturday in the area of Radius Way and Jefferson Avenue, police said. Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew will share information about the shooting and investigation during a press conference to be scheduled for Saturday evening. No other information was provided at this time.
