A Jetstar flight JQ507 from Sydney to Melbourne was thrown into chaos when a passenger decided to exit the plane in an unconventional manner. The man, believed to be in his 30s, opened the emergency exit door as the plane touched down at Melbourne Airport around 10am on Thursday, August 22. He then proceeded to jump out of the plane, walk onto the wing, and slide down the evacuation slide before being quickly restrained by ground staff, reports The Daily Star.

Fellow passengers also pleaded with him to "please sit down", according to Sky News. After the man was arrested, passengers were allowed to disembark.

One passenger, Adam, recalled that the man seemed to be experiencing a mental health episode. He told Sky News: "Effectively as we were taxiing to the gate, the gentleman sitting not too far from me stood up and ignored instructions to sit down." "He was looking a little bit disturbed, I guessed he was having some sort of psychotic episode.

" "When we actually pulled up to the gate he reached over to the emergency exit, pulled it. Everyone at that point was screaming at him telling him to stop and trying to physically restrain him."
