A MAN died after falling overboard from a superyacht docked off the coast of Scotland. A major search and rescue operation was launched after the incident. Emergency crews scoured the area as reports came in. Tragically, the body of a 52-year-old man was discovered by rescue workers.

The Berilda also boasts a spacious bridge deck, a sundeck with a raised jacuzzi surrounded by sun pads, and a fully equipped sit-up wet bar. The yacht is currently docked in Greenock but has spent the last month on the Firth of Clyde.

It bears the flag of the Cayman Islands and underwent an extensive refit in 2022. It was also named the Mary A under a previous owner before it changed hands to an experienced charter operator.

His death is still being probed but police say there are no suspicious circumstances. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A search and rescue operation was launched this morning , Friday, August 16 after police received a report of a man in the water off Rosneath Bay, near Helensburgh. "The body of a 52-year-old man has been recovered and his family has been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing, however, we are not treating the death as suspicious. Police were called around 9.30am.
