Radicalized individual According to a criminal complaint filed on November 6th, Syed Aman, a US citizen and a resident of Nassau County, New York, was attempting to provide support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Aman has been expressing his support for the terrorist outfit on social media posts on an ISIS online forum over the last two years. He also sent money to an individual he believed to be an ISIS operative.
The money was intended to support the group's terrorist activities in Syria. Aman also made travel arrangements to travel to Syria and engage in jihad (holy war) on behalf of the organization. Fortunately, since the beginning of October, Aman has been in contact with a confidential human source (an informant) who was working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) about his plans to join ISIS.
