A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with the Creeslough explosion in 2022 in which 10 people died. This morning, investigating gardaí arrested a man in his 60s and a garda spokesperson said he has been arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997. He is currently detained at a Garda station in the Garda North Western Region.

The investigation continues to be led by local gardaí in the Donegal Division, supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and other agencies including the Health & Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities. The investigation is co-ordinated from Milford Garda Station, where an Incident Room is established under the direction of a Garda Senior Investigating Officer. Four men, three women and three children, ranging in age from five to 59, died in the blast at the village’s Applegreen service station and a nearby apartment block on the afternoon of Friday 7 October.
