Thursday, August 22, 2024 The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation has introduced the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, a global initiative designed to enhance the destination’s visibility and engage with travel trade professionals around the world. This series of webinars, launched yesterday with a session focused on the French market, aims to provide in-depth knowledge about the diverse tourism offerings of the Maldives. Each session is tailored to reach approximately 60-80 travel professionals and trade media, with content delivered in localized languages to ensure effective communication with travel agents and tour operators.

The webinars feature detailed presentations by industry partners, offering insights into the unique attractions, experiences, and services that make the Maldives a premier travel destination. The inaugural webinar, held on August 21, 2024, emphasized the Maldives’ appeal to travelers from France and other French-speaking regions. Esteemed properties like Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau participated in this session, showcasing their distinctive offerings alongside Visit Maldives.



The primary goal of the “Discover Maldives” webinar series is to maintain and boost tourist arrivals from both established and emerging markets. MMPRC is committed to keeping the Maldives top-of-mind for global travelers by providing essential information and fostering strong relationships with travel trade professionals. Additionally, the series aims to spotlight the diverse tourism products and wide range of experiences available in the Maldives, catering to travelers with varying preferences and interests.

The Maldives has experienced a notable increase in tourist arrivals from key markets over the past eight months. The leading markets for the year include China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. The “Discover Maldives” webinar series is poised to further bolster the destination’s presence in these regions while also creating a stronger connection to the Sunny Side of Life in new and emerging markets.
