Thursday, August 15, 2024 On August 10th, 2024, Malaysia and China marked the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties with a lavish event at Sunway Velocity Mall, titled “Hi China: Discovering China Opportunities and Celebrating 50 Years of China-Malaysia Relationship.” This celebration was aimed at enhancing mutual understanding, and fostering economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges. The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr.

Manoharan Periasamy, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, who underscored the enduring partnership between Malaysia and China in his keynote speech. Attendees included prominent figures from both countries, representing organizations like the China Media Group (CMG), the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong), the Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC), and the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM). Cultural performances and displays, alongside interactive sessions, illustrated the vibrant cultural heritage of both nations.



A standout feature was the roadshow collaboration between China Media Group (CMG) and Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), which showcased the documentary “Cerita Antara Kita” and its theme song “Dua Dunia Satu Cinta.” “We are honoured to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations with China,” said Mr. Manoharan Periasamy .

“This partnership has been instrumental in driving economic growth, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties between our two nations. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration in the years to come.” The event concluded with a commitment to strengthening Malaysia-China relations further, emphasizing cultural exchanges and economic collaborations as pathways to future prosperity.
