Tweet Facebook Mail A Malaysia Airlines flight bound for Kuala Lumpur made an emergency landing in Alice Springs after "technical issue" with the engines. The airline confirmed Flight MH128, which departed Melbourne around 11.20pm, landed just hours later in Alice Springs.

The aircraft landed safely at 4.35 am local time," it said in a statement . "The airline is actively working to rebook passengers on new flights, while also arranging accommodation and reimbursements for meal expenses where applicable.

(9News) Airport Development Group (ADG), which manages Alice Springs Airport, confirmed the diversion was due to engine issues. "We are pleased to report that all passengers are safe, and we commend the swift and coordinated response of our team, the airline, and emergency services," Rob Porter, Executive General Manager – Airports said.
