An exciting new route will be available to a pretty and affordable part of Europe from a major UK airport. Jet2 will add a route to Budapest from Newcastle International Airport for Winter 2025/2026 in response to extra demand for the Hungarian capital. Scheduled flights and city breaks are to go on sale to Budapest from Newcastle International for Winter 25/26 and Easter 2026.
The airline said it recognised strong demand from UK holidaymakers looking to explore Budapest and has decided to expand its network from the airport. There will be exclusive twice-weekly services from Newcastle International, with Thursday and Sunday flights operating between 9th October 2025 and 26th April 2026. Flights from Newcastle to Budapest take around two hours and 45 minutes, they cost as little as £53 making it an affordable destination.
As well as being the only airline to operate to Budapest from the airport, the launch of scheduled services builds on the success of the company’s dedicated Christmas Markets trips. Budapest is an exciting destination for Brits to visit - the vibrant city has a variety of things to do and see. You can take a walk along the River Danube or explore the city’s culture while strolling around its bustling streets.
