Welcome to the Bazaar spa review, where the beauty team delve into the sanctuaries really worth spending your downtime in. Whether you’re in need of a transformative , a tension-melting , or simply an afternoon soaking in the , we know just the spot. This week, a look at Maison Sisley, the French beauty brand's first flagship house in the UK which offers head-to-toe treatments alongside a beautiful retail experience.

Mayfair's South Audley Street is fast cementing itself as a destination hotspot for luxury beauty. After welcoming Omorovicza's serene, terracotta pink retail and retreat space earlier this year, the area now hosts the UK's first , a double story flagship that provides shopping, facials, massages, hair treatments and a lounge area complete with a skylight to mimic the laidback feel of a home's conservatory. Given the French brand's revered pedigree (it is still firmly owned by its founders, the D'Ornano family), it's easy to expect a 'quiet luxury' aesthetic to the store.

However, in place of subdued beige tones, Maison Sisley echoes the family's penchant for distinct patterns, joyful colour, art and sculpture. It's luxury with a joie de vivre spirit; a pink, hand-painted feature lampshade by the artist lights the main area, colourful prints illustrate the fragrance section and an artwork by British artist Sir hangs proudly on the washed, dusky blue stairwell. Flanking the plush forest green sofa in the lounge, you'll find a sculptural table by Polish artist and sculptor that reflects Sisley's Soir de Lune bottle cap (he's the man behind Sisley's perfume flacons), a gingko-backed gold chair to reflect the brand's massage tool, a -designed star-embellished mirror scribbled with 'au dela du Reve' (or 'beyond the dream'), and a tromphe l'oeil palm tree floor light by Spanish sculptor that looks just like the real thing.

With everything within the space picked by the duo, it's a reflection of Isabelle and Christine D'Ornano's own home interiors – nothing quite matches, but it all harmoniously fits. The treatment area downstairs – which features three treatment rooms plus one for hair – takes on a more tranquil approach with white 3D gingko motifs on the ceiling, hand-drawn wallpaper inspired by skin cell patterns and customisable chromatic lights to suit your mood. Combining high-tech devices such as with expertise, each treatment is designed to leave you looking exceptionally brighter and feeling well-rested.

The treatment list is extensive: from the Sisleÿa L'Integral Anti-Ageing Facial with LED for firming benefits, the Black Rose Youthful Radiance Facial to perk up fatigued, dry complexions, to sculpting and hair strengthening treatments. There are also pampering programs should you prefer a head-to-toe session. If it's an all-round glow-boosting, skin-reviving facial you're after, book in for the Sisley Signature Facial.

It has all the hallmarks of a classic protocol: deep cleansing, enzymatic exfoliation and plenty of , but with the most sublime manual massage that manages to get deep into the facial muscles without causing any redness or discomfort. It also includes a much-needed deep tissue shoulder, arm, and hand massage to ease any stiffness before finishing with gentle feet ankle stretches. In short, your therapist will maximise every minute you're on that massage bed – a pure delight.

It is a treat for the olfactory senses too, as it incorporates the use of scented mitts doused in restorative rosemary and lavender oil. A special mention must be given to Sisley's heated treatment bed. Not only is it deliciously plush and padded out with plenty of comfortable blankets, it also supports the curvature of your neck, back and knees perfectly and caters to larger bodies – as all treatments bed should (but don't necessarily do).

A tailored experience is key, so lights and music can be tweaked to your preference. Each room is also equipped with a spacious dresser section complete with make-up and , should you wish to freshen up after your treatment. The Signature Face Treatment, £220 for 1 hour.
