Pune: Congress functionary and former deputy chief minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singh Deo, on Wednesday said several industries and businesses have moved out of Maharashtra during the Mahayuti regime, adversely hampering the state's economy and employment opportunities. Deo was on a visit to Pune city ahead of the state assembly poll. Addressing the media, Deo said Mahayuti was unable to keep its promises pertaining to Maharashtra's economic development.
He added that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has come out with a ‘Maharashtra-nama' for the state's overall development, which includes recruitment drives, pushing the state to the top in terms of per capita income, and bringing in more investments. On the other hand, he said the Mahayuti has no plans for industrial development of the state. "In fact, 37 IT companies from Hinjewadi and around 50 companies from Chakan industrial area moved out during Mahayuti's tenure," he claimed.
"The Congress is not against development of any other state; however, Mahayuti govt failed to push industrial development of Maharashtra. Why are four out of five semiconductor projects proposed in the country coming up only in Gujarat? Maharashtra wants a change in the leadership to assure better growth and a stronger economy," Deo said..
