Travel reservations have surged by 31% for the extended Independence Day – Raksha Bandhan weekend across Mumbai and the state, according to the latest data from private bus operators. To meet the growing demand, operators are set to provide 4,571 bus services, marking an increase from last year’s I-Day weekend.

Private bus operators in Mumbai and Maharashtra experienced a significant 31% increase in travel bookings during the extended Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan weekend. This surge in demand prompted operators to arrange over 4,500 bus services, a notable rise from the previous year’s holiday weekend. The most popular routes included Mumbai-Indore and Pune-Bangalore, reflecting the growing preference for bus travel during festive periods.
