Narhari Zirwal – the Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar faction MLA – jumped from the third floor of the Mantralaya building and landed on the safety net. The incident took place during a protest led by tribal legislators against the inclusion of the Dhangar community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) reservation quota. According to reports by ABP Majha, several tribal MLAs, including Zirwal, jumped off the third floor of the Mantralaya building and landed on the safety nets.
They were protesting against the Dhangar community getting reservations under the ST category, and called for services under the PESA (Panchayat Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act. Later, several visuals of the tribal leaders being rescued from the safety nets surfaced on social media. Zirwal and other leaders can be seen falling on the safety nets of the building while the authorities make attempts to bring them to safety.
